Day 0-Why become curious ?
As we are entering into the 21st century, it's very clear that technology is getting more and more powerful than ever. And this process is only going to accelerate. Here are some of the task that an AI can do for you :
An AI model can write creative content for you. It can recreate Shakespeare’s work and generate original poems, original jokes filled with sarcasm and wit.
A trained AI Model can write code for you, the very recent example is copilot mode of GitHub .
Customer support, Management and Technical support jobs are no longer creative and are getting automated with advanced software's.
and so on…
Machines are no longer limited to assembly lines. It's the 21st century and machines have been replaced by AI which is doing a much better job than humans in every repetitive task. Any task which can be copied and pasted easily without much effort and involves no individual human element is going to be replaced with AI sooner than later. Advanced AI models like GPT-3 which are trained on 158 Billion training data sets are now able to do the creative human jobs like writing code, algorithms, articles by learning and training themselves through all the past works of humans available on the internet.
Don't take my words read an Article by GPT-3 itself
A robot wrote this article. Are you scared yet, Human?
So what's the solution to that?
How can you protect yourself against future technologies where AI overtake and disrupt every industry ? What's unique to your skills on which you can rely to survive in the age of AI ?
I went on researching these questions and found that a big part of human cognitive abilities can never be replicated by any advanced AI. Human curiosity being one of them.
Let's deep dive into what are these unique skills
Humans have this wonderful power to find relationships between two very unrelated fields while looking for an answer to a question. They are curious by nature, and have extraordinary imagination power which if mixed with logic and practicality can yield powerful inventions like aeroplanes and steam engines.
But here is the bad news, though we are curious by nature, according to a report an adult human loses 96% of their curiosity while growing up and there is a solid reason why it happens but that's a discussion for some other time.
I am here to help you find those natural skills within you. To equip you with the best techniques on how to become more curious and revive that curious child within you, who dares to question everything from its fundamentals, has no fear of failing while learning, can think from first principles and ask lots of questions to find out the ins and outs of a situation just for the sake of doing and learning it.
This is going to be an action packed weekly newsletter for next 21 weeks in which you will be developing your unique human skills. I will be covering everything from first principle thinking, combinatory Imagination, reverse thinking model , Cross disciplinary thinking and much more.
